Update from the Search Committee - September 14, 2011
The search for the next Hill Head of School began when Jim and Martha Wickenden of Wickenden Associates of Princeton, N.J., came to The Hill during the 2011 spring term and conducted a series of interviews with people throughout the School community. Those discussions led to the creation of the Opportunity Statement posted at
www.wickenden.com. The Opportunity Statement provides factual information about the School; an assessment of the School's strengths and challenges; and a list of qualities, skills, and experiences any prospective Head of School should bring to the position at Hill.
The Search Committee then met on June 10, 2011, to review the timeline for the search and the Opportunity Statement. It met again on September 8, 2011, to review the credentials of candidates submitted by the Wickendens. The candidate pool was filled with well-qualified people with proven leadership experience.
The Search Committee selected eight semifinalists at the meeting and will invite those candidates to be interviewed on September 24 and 25. For obvious reasons, including protecting their privacy, the names of the eight semifinalists will be kept confidential.
The finalists will be invited to campus for interviews during October and November.
Meantime, the Committee will continue to provide updates through Hill's website.
