The 2011 Boys XC Team
The 2011 Hill boys’ cross country team has good potential and looks to better our performance from last year. The team will be led by Quinn Davis ’12, who earned a spot on the 2010 All-MAPL cross country team and is coming off an excellent spring track season. After graduating six of our top runners, our team will be young but improving. Returning varsity letter winners are co-captains Davis and Colin Freilich ’13, as well as two runners coming off strong rookie seasons, Jordan Trout ’14 and Luke Andersen ’14. We have a dedicated core of runners and a solid group of incoming third formers, and expect to be competitive in a strong MAPL.
Our coaching philosophy combines the latest scientific research in human physiology with team building, discipline, and good sportsmanship. Our guys work hard and meet their individual race and workout goals, while supporting and encouraging all of their teammates as they work towards their goals. These young men study their sport, know its history, its milestones, and its heroes. They understand the physiological processes that each type of workout emphasizes, and realize they have undertaken a lifetime sport that gives back exactly what they put in. The level of camaraderie and support is high, and though the workouts are strenuous, this team truly enjoys what it does
