Charles A. Frank III '59 was presented with The Hill School's 2010 Sixth Form Leadership Award on Monday, April 12. (You can view video clips from this event, below) Mr. Frank, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, addressed members of The Hill community at a special ceremony in the Center For The Arts theatre. He drew on his experience as a Hill volunteer - serving as his class secretary, president of the Alumni Association, Trustee, and Chairman of the Board. During his talk about 10 leadership characteristics, he spoke specifically about his time as a student at Hill and the importance of being involved in extracurricular organizations. He also recounted his tenure as Chairman from 1993 to 2007 and cited the accomplishments he helped the School achieve, including the historic transfer to coeducation in 1998.
In addition, Charlie spoke about his commitment to philanthropy. In 2008, Charlie and his wife, Betty, generously provided The Hill with the funds to establish the School’s Student Philanthropy Council (SPC). This program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the value and processes of philanthropy while at the same time financially supports Pottstown non-profit organizations with missions that range from educating children to greening community parks.
Charlie was introduced by Greta Witter '10, president of the SPC. Peter Bachich '10, vice-president of the SPC, posthumously honored Clarence A. Warden, Hill class of 1896 and first Chairman of The Hill School Board of Trustees.
