The 1851 Society was established in 2009 to recognize those individuals and organizations who make leadership contributions to the School in the amount of $1,851 or more. Members of The 1851 Society are the leaders of our philanthropic community and provide crucial support to the School. Last year, 1851 Society members provided more than 80 percent of the $5.5 million raised for The Hill School.
Members of The 1851 Society receive exclusive invitations to Hill events including the annual 1851 Society Dinner, special literature related to The Hill’s progress, and correspondence from the Headmaster and Hill students on School-related news and business.
The following capital, endowment, and operating projects were possible through the generous support and gifts from members of the 2010-11 1851 Society:
- The Tower Challenge, To support increased faculty salaries and professional development
- The Baseball Field Renovation Project
- The Organ Restoration Project
- The new Track and Soccer Field Project
- The Green Street Faculty Village Project
