College Forum

College Forum, a fall and winter term course for fifth form students (11th grade), meets once a week, with individual advising beginning in the spring. The program serves as a bridge between high school and college. While the emphasis appears to be on enhancing the college application process, much of the Forum curriculum further focuses on healthy adolescent development.

The College Forum curriculum includes:

During the winter term, students focus on TCCi/Naviance software training, which is specifically designed to provide additional guidance for our students who are preparing for college, and SAT preparation. The Hill uses College Board software to provide students with on-line Preparation, which includes practice tests and essays, and real-time grading of their work. Students also use the TCCi software to take personality surveys and analyze their strengths and weaknesses to help them choose a college that is best fit for them.

During the spring term, students focus more on social factors associated with the college experience, as well as learning skills to prepare them for college visits, interviewing, and writing application essays.
