If you already have a personal laptop, we ask that it meet our minimum system requirements. Upon registration at the beginning of the school year, it will be checked by ISD to make sure it meets the following specifications:
- Dual Core 2.0 MHz speed processor or higher2 GB RAM or more
- Licensed Windows XP Professional, Vista Ultimate, Vista Business, or Windows 2007 Pro
- NO XP Home or Media editions
- NO Vista Home Basic or Home Premium editions
- NO Windows 2007 Home Premium editions
- NO Apple/ Macintosh or Linux notebooks, or Windows emulators
- True laptop (portable with battery) with 10/100 Ethernet network card connection and wireless capability (802.11 B & G & N)
- Licensed copy of Office 2007, 2003, or XP Academic/Professional installed (must include Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
It is essential that all students have systems that meet these requirements so they can function effectively on the School network and, more specifically, so they can access vital Hill resources such as Outlook and Blackboard.
