Financial Aid FAQs

What does a Hill education cost?
For the 2011-12 academic year the day student tuition is $32,800 and the boarding tuition is $47,500 (this includes room & board).

How is financial aid awarded?
Financial aid is awarded to families according to their level of financial need, as determined by the School and Student Services (SSS). The Hill School Financial Aid Committee then reviews all cases individually in determining their final award.

How do I apply for financial assistance?
Parents/Guardians must complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). Please click here to complete this application on-line.

When is the financial aid application due?
The Parent Financial Statement and 2010 federal tax returns and schedules are due no later than December 15, 2011.

How do I get my tax forms to (SSS) School and Student Services before the January 31 deadline?
We ask that families send their 2010 tax forms and PFS to SSS in Randolph, MA by December 15 and their 2011 W-2s by January 31, 2012. Final awards will be contingent upon the submission of the 2011 tax forms (and all schedules) to SSS by May 1, 2012.

Who fills out the PFS form if the parents are separated or divorced?
Each parent must complete the financial aid paperwork regardless of who is the custodial parent.

Is Financial Aid available for International Students?
No, we typically do not award financial aid to international students.

Does Hill have any academic or athletic scholarships?
No. All Financial Assistance is based on the need of the family.

What is The Hill School’s code used on the PFS form?
3898

How do I answer question #25 on the PFS form?
The question is really asking what you can realistically contribute toward your child’s education. Please do not leave blank or answer zero.

What debt does The Hill School take into account?
The Hill considers: past educational debts of parents, prolonged illness, unemployment and debts for investments. The Hill does not consider: Mortgages, business, farm, car, consumer debt (credit cards), and will not subsidize unnecessary lifestyle choices.

When will we be informed of our financial aid award?
Notification of your financial aid award will arrive within a few days after you receive your online admission decision letter.
