The Hill School Financial Aid Program offers assistance to families based upon their financial need and the availability of funds. There are no merit-based scholarships at The Hill School. All awards offered are based on the financial/demonstrated need of the family. Accordingly, no student should be deterred from applying to The Hill due to their family not being able to afford the full tuition. Approximately 40% of our current student population annually receives financial assistance. All application materials are held in the strictest confidence as to protect the privacy of our families.
Philosophy & Objective:
Financial Aid at The Hill has a two-fold purpose: (1) to provide deserving students the opportunity of a high-quality education which otherwise might be unobtainable; and, (2) to provide the School with a well-qualified student body reflecting a broad social and economic mix. For those goals to be achieved it is essential that ability to pay the full tuition not be the deciding factor in determining whether or not a promising young person may attend the School. Financial Aid decisions are made independently from Admission decisions and in no way affect a candidate’s chances for Admission.
The Financial Aid Process:
Thank you for your interest in The Hill School for the 2012-13 school year. You may begin the application for financial aid starting on November 1, 2011, as described below. To be eligible for consideration for financial aid at The Hill, you must complete your Parent Financial Statement and submit the 2010 federal tax returns and all schedules to School and Student Services (SSS) by December 15, 2011. All financial decisions will be mailed out on March 10, 2012.
To apply for financial assistance, Parents are asked to complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) application by December 15 and submit the forms to School & Student Services (SSS) in Randolph, MA. We use School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid applications. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools. Based on the financial information you provide, SSS gives us an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps us make fair and objective financial aid decisions. The Hill School Financial Aid Committee will make all final decisions on award amounts. Financial aid decisions are made separate from the admission decisions and in no way change a candidate’s opportunity for admission.
