
Rachel Carson '14 (Collegeville, Pa.) Varsity B Boys’ Ice Hockey
Rachel made her first appearance of the season in net for the Varsity B boys’ ice hockey team and notched 44 saves against Hun’s Varsity A team.
Maggie D’Aprix '13 (Clinton, N.Y.) JV Girls’ Squash
Maggie, who just started playing squash this winter, played a great match on Saturday against St. Andrews. She controlled play beautifully and made some great shots in taking three straight games from her more experienced opponent.
Bronwyn Dewey '13 (Chester Springs, Pa.) Girls’ Winter Track & Field
Despite an extremely large field in The Hill Invitational, consisting of jumpers from 18 girls’ teams, Bronwyn placed second overall in the high jump, with a leap of 4’-8”, narrowly missing the winning lead of 4’-10”. Bronwyn later came back to compete in the girls’ 4x400m relay, the last event of the evening. She ran an extremely strong leg, helping the girls’ team capture fifth place overall, with the time of 4:24.94.
Zander Metz '12 (Amherst, N.Y.) Swimming & Diving
After years as a specialist in sprint freestyle, Zander agreed to branch out and try a few new things this year. His willingness to swim whatever he is asked to swim is noteworthy, and it turns out he can swim a mean Breaststroke. He continues to improve and he is now, the team’s #2 breaststroker. His enthusiasm is infectious and he is a wonderful teammate.
John Moran '12 (Phoenixville, Pa.) Varsity Boys’ Basketball
John had a terrific week of practice, and continues to show improvement in all areas of the game. His hard work paid off with a season-high 15 point performance in the team’s win over Navy JV team. John went 5-6 from three point range and had a strong overall floor game.
Brian Sachs '12 (Glenside, Pa.) Varsity Boys’ Ice Hockey
Brian has been a dominate presence for the Varsity Boys’ Ice Hockey team. Highlighted by his assist in the Winter Classic, Brian continues to shine both on and off the ice as a captain of the team.
