On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, The Hill School welcomed 20 students and their parents to campus from the Prep 9 program. Prep 9 is a group of the most talented eighth graders within the New York City public schools who attend a consortium of boarding schools each year. The visiting students had the opportunity to see what a day at Hill is like by attending classes and meeting with a panel of students and faculty members. There currently are 11 students enrolled at Hill through the Prep 9 program. These students joined the group for lunch to offer a personal insight into life at Hill.

Hill was asked become a part of this prestigious consortium in 2007. The other schools that participate in this program are Loomis Chaffe, Lawrenceville, Andover, Exeter, Choate, Deerfield, St. Andrew's, Hotchkiss, Milton, Taft, and Middlesex.
